The first day of 9!!!

Well the first day of nine was lots of fun!  A great big thank you to Auntie Julie for the cool cake which was not only an electric guitar but YELLOW too!!!  Family and friends, near and far, made Miranda's birthday special as always!  We love you all!!!

the PERFECT winter day on the rideau canal

imagine my surprise when i found out that my friend vania and her family had never been skating on the canal.  well double that up when i was told that her three girls had NEVER had a beavertail!  seriously...that is a crime, i am sure of it....beavertails are miranda's very favorite treat of all!  so we all packed up and headed out on sunday morning in search of a true ottawan experience!  the weather was excellent and the beavertails were enjoyed by all!

a treasure....

a gift from my sweet friend, helene.  

a gift that i can not thank her enough for.  

i yearned for one of these old type set drawers after i saw what ali edwards did with hers on studio a.  sadly, i never came acrossed one until helene presented me with this one that is in perfect condition.  only a true friend would pass on such a treasure and i thank you from the bottom of my heart.

however, i never anticipated the hours of love (a.k.a. tedious work) would go into it.  but i absolutely adore the finished product!

two sweet girls and a lizard

miranda and niamh (sounds like neve) look like angels, don't they? would you ever guess that they were threatened to get along? these two girls are so similar that they have been known to butt heads. last saturday i had a "playdate" to scrapbook with my friend helen, who happens to be niamh's mom....our girls wanted to join the party. although we were hesitant and we really did threaten them, i am glad that we allowed them to join our because they really had a good time. beautiful is definitely an understatement when it comes to these two!

people!?!?!  who has noticed that ALL of my layouts look the same these days!???!  and noone told me??  shame on you all!  oh well...those are my last two efforts.

Good Old Fashioned Christmas Caroling with the Guides...

uncle steve pulled a wagon full of sparks, brownies, guides, pathfinders and rangers through metcalfe in the middle of december....we were singing Christmas carols and collecting canned foods for the shepherds of good hope.   spending time with friends, creating memories, laughing out loud....what could be better?
